History

Over the last 35 years Glogau Yachttransporte has gone from being a one-man business to one of the largest European yacht transportation companies in the luxury sector with over 10,000m² of space and satisfied customers all over the world.

In 1985 Torsten Glogau, inspired by an advert in a magazine, bought his first yacht transportation truck and started a one-man company as a sole trader. Only one year later he had his first great success with the transportation of the Norwegian royal family’s regatta yacht “Frahm IX” from Barcelona to Oslo.

By 1993 the company had gained a good reputation and moved to Neumünster. Today this is the company’s head office and includes the main switchboard and administration team as well as material planning, logistics and the upgraded vehicle fleet with a workshop and its own fuel station. As they were carrying out around 1500 – 2000 yacht transports each year by 2008, it was time to establish a base in Southern Germany, in Giebelstadt near Würzburg.

In 2010, when they celebrated their 25-year anniversary, Kolja Glogau and Saskia Glogau were the second generation to join the family business and expanded the management team. With more than 50 employees, over 2000 transports each year and famous customers like Ralf Schumacher and the Spanish royal family, Glogau Yachttransporte has become the name to turn to for high-quality yacht transportation.
